Behind the RNG
Random number generators decide most online slot and virtual table outcomes. Certification is about process and maths — not guaranteeing you a win.
What an RNG does
An RNG continuously generates values that map to game outcomes according to the game’s rules and published return-to-player model. Players cannot influence the sequence by tapping faster or switching apps mid-spin.
Independent testing labs
Specialist laboratories evaluate game mathematics and RNG implementations against technical standards. Operators and suppliers contract those labs; UK licence conditions expect appropriate testing evidence. Seals you see on a site usually point to that supplier or operator relationship — always treat them as claims to verify, not trophies.
What seals do not mean
A testing mark does not raise your personal odds above the game’s design. It does not remove wagering requirements from a bonus. It does not replace UKGC licensing.
Live games are different
Live roulette and blackjack rely on physical equipment and studio procedures, with software capturing stakes. Fairness discussions there focus on camera coverage, shoe procedures, and game history displays rather than a classic software RNG alone.
